The project aims to build a Portuguese blue biobank serving as a sustainable basis for the development of differentiated and innovative biotechnology. NOVA OCEAN contributes in the development of a draft legislation to regulate the access and use of marine genetic resources within Portuguese national waters.
Women in the Blue Economy Project
The project explores and analyses women's roles and impacts in fisheries and shipping across Portugal, Cape Verde, and Japan. It offers evidence-based insights and policy recommendations to advance gender equality in the blue economy.
